This entry and the following ones are still incomplete. They will be added as soon as the corresponding dossier has been prepared. We ask for patience.

Johann Conrad Zisenis (1671-1727) - sculptor in Hannover

Johann Conrad Zisenis was the eldest son of the linen weaver Dietrich Zisenis in Hanover. He learned wood carving and was also a decorative painter. Only one work from him has survived, a small baroque altar in the church of the upper estate in Lenthe. For this he carved a crucifixion group with Mary and John in front of a city view that he had painted in the background as well as a plastic communion group.

Johann Jürgen Ziesenis (1680-1748) - painter in Copenhagen

The Catholic baptismal name of the painter Ziesenis, who worked in Copenhagen, was 'Johann Georg', but his nickname was 'Jürgen'. Therefore he signed 'J. J. Ziesenis', as seen in a depiction of the baptism of Jesus in Copenhagen's ...church. Much better known than he is his son Johann Georg Ziesenis, born in 1716, who became a sought-after portrait painter and court painter in Hanover. His younger brother Christian Friedrich Ziesenis became a portrait and decorative painter and lived in northern Hesse, mainly in Hanau.

Johann Heinrich Ludwig Ziesenis (1686-1765) - sculptor in Hanover

Dietrich's youngest son Johann Heinrich Ludwig Ziesenis lived and worked as a sculptor in Hanover, although nothing has come down to us. His son Johann Friedrich [Blasius] Ziesenis, born in 1715, became court sculptor in Hanover.

Heinrich Dietrich Kruse (1676-1733) - decorative painter in Hanover

The painter Heinrich Dietrich Kruse was married to the daughter ......... of Dietrich Zisenis. He died through a work accident in a church.
